The Mighty Eagle Band is led by a group of very talented directors.
Rudy Salazar- Director of Bands: CHS, CHS 9th Grade Campus, and H. F. Stevens
Rudy Salazar is in his 23rd year of band directing of which all but 1 of those years has been here in Crowley. He started off as the 8th grade band director at the original HF Stevens and then became the 9th grade director in 1994 for 2 years. In 1996 he was named Director of Bands and has held that position for 14 years.
Mr. Salazar holds a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from West Texas State University.

Ken Danforth- Assistant Director CHS and H. F. Stevens, Jazz Band
Ken Danforth is currently in his 14th year in CISD and the assistant band director at Crowley High School. In his first two years at CHS, he was the assistant at CHS 9th grade campus. Mr. Danforth is the director of the Honors band, Jazz band, and AP Music Theory teacher. He also coordinates and teaches all Percussion from 7th grade to 12th grade. Over the years he has received many sweepstakes awards in concert and marching band; several first divisions for Jazz band; and consistently qualified solos and ensembles for Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition. As director of the Crowley Drumline, Mr. D and the ensemble have received many caption awards and participated in 5 PASIC championships over the years. Mr. Danforth is a member of TMEA, TBA, and the Percussive Arts Society. For the last 12 years, he has been the coordinator for the Crowley Drumline Colorguard Competition.
Mr. Danforth is from Bakersfield California and has been in Texas since 1989. He received his Bachelors in Music Education in 1996 from the University of North Texas where he was a member of the 12 time PAS champion UNT Drumline.

Benjamin Brown - Assistant Band Director CHS, CHS 9th
Mr. Brown is in his fourth year of teaching and his first at Crowley High School. Previously, he taught for three years in Crowley ISD as assistant director at Summer Creek Middle School with Mrs. Faith Massey. His ensembles have consistently scored superior ratings at contest each of those three years. He graduated high school in Wylie where he was section leader and a member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra. Upon graduation, Mr. Brown attended Stephen F. Austin State University and obtained his bachelor degree in music education. During his tenure as an undergrad, Mr. Brown consistently appeared on the Dean’s List, was principle horn of the Wind Ensemble, a member of the Orchestra of the Pines, section leader and Drill Intern for the Lumberjack Marching Band, and the 2005-2006 Orchestra of the Pines Concerto Competition Winner. Mr. Brown is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and a proud life member of the Gamma Phi chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi.
